Daily Progression Real Life Case Study Blogging Actions
Review Of A Superstar Blogger: CourtneyTuttle.com
This is a review of courtneytuttle dot com blog.
First things first.
18:05 Back at home. I said 5:00 pm in the last post but 1 hour later. I surf my fav blogs to see what’s going on them. Always a pleasure and inspiring.
18:20 I digress. I watch TV (one of my daily appointments on tv, a reality show here in France: “Secret story” on TF1: young people locked up in a big house/loft trying to find out each others secret, and each secret unveiled earns the perspicacious €10,000 - the final winner prize is €500,000)
Hmmm. . . Only 20 minutes of work and break already? Focus Lova! Focus !
19:00 Back to work. I begin writing today’s first post (the previous post). 19:31 I finish writing.
19:40 I finish cleaning and reviewing the post. Then I publish it.
Total time to produce the post: 40 minutes.
Review process begins here: it will take 4 Hours and 27 minutes. See why below…
19:45 pm. I then start to think about reviewing courtney’s blog. This is something I wanted to do since a long time ago. Now that I take action heavily, I do it. 20:02 pm. I think about how to review court’s blog. I have the tittle in mind already: ” A Future Superstar blog: courtneytuttle.com”.
I think of the 1st paragraph: “Let me introduce to you …”Ouch. The inspiration doesn’t come easy, although I have a general idea about what I’d like to say, something like this: “hey everybody!! Go check this blog! It’s of great quality! I found it, it’s fantastic! etc…” Then I realize that I want to link to his great posts too. I’ve got to go to his blog again (a pleasure) and pick some top notch one. Even though I think every single post Court publishes is Top. I decide to pick 6 of them. But..
Wait a minute. It’s time for “Friends”. A new episode. It’s 20:10 pm. Break. Ross’s book is in the faculty library, but the last 5th floor, where every student go not to really read but hum hum only instead. You picture? Fun. Then I prepare and have dinner.
22:05 2 hours after “Friends and dinner” I’m Back to review courtneytuttle again. We MMO (make money online) bloggers want results, immediatly, good tangible info that we can use straight away, that we feel of great value and benefit straight away. Court’s work can be defined like that.
Review template still to be built
What I want is to make a featured review of courtneytuttle.com on top of my sidebar plus in a regular post. You’re reading the regular post right now, and you can also see the review on top of the sidebar on the right.
Putting his review on the sidebar requires me to make the design under my html editor microsoft frontpage 2003 and then copy the HTML code produced into my sidebar.php file between the “<ul> </ul>” PHP tags. It’s easy, once you’re well organised. But it requires work the first time, and then you’ll get sed to the process.
23:06 I’m still reviewing court’s work and pick some great posts of him, while building the sidebar review in frontpage 2003, uploading sidebar.php, checking if it renders well, correct the errors back in frontpage, re-upload sidebar.php, re-refresh firefox to see how it renders etc… until everything looks ok and nice. You know, deciding what font size, what text alignement, what table color, what words to put in etc… It’s a lot more work than I thought. But I want to do it. Absolutely!
Remember: Blogadollar is a real-life case study, and want to do it REALLY and share wth you and learn in the process, while building real-time.
So I continue to tweak, re-do, un-do, re upload, refresh, re-edit the html then the php etc…
I check the clock. It’s now 00:13 I continue until I’m satisfied with the results.
I check the clock again . It’s now 00:23 It’s almost done.
I check the clock again. It’s now 00:29 Done. The final tweaks are done.
Since this was the first review of its kind, it took me a lot of time and trial and errors. As you could see, I had to HTML and PHP and upload/refresh/check/re-check/repeat etc…
The sidebar already took 2 Hours + to build, but the grand total is…
So the review (sidebar featured Top! blogafame) took me:
from 19:45 pm to 20:10 pm = 25mn
+ from 22:05 pm to 00:29 am = 2Hours 24mn
———————————————-
Sidebar TOTAL = 2Hours and 50mn
But, I got it now, and next time, It’ll be quicker and I will improve… AND I’ve got a template now. Next time I’ll just have to add the content and BAM!
00:29 I begin to write this post you’re reading now. This is the Regular Post Review:
02:06 I finish this regular post review.
SO, time to produce this regular post review: 1Hour and 29minutes
Add that up with the sidebar review building and we have:
2Hours and 50 minutes (sidebar review building time)
+
1Hour and 37 minutes (regular post review)
————————-
4Hours and 27 minutes (GRAND TOTAL).
Wow! Talk about a lot of work! You got it!
