Daily Progression Real Life Case Study Blogging Actions

Thirsday,July The 27th Daily Progression (part 2)

BlogaDollar is a REAL-LIFE Case Study About Making Money Online. That’s why you get every important details in the Daily Progression posts I write. Those actions are what I take and what I do to develop BlogaDollar:

It’s 11:40 am. I try to put order in the pdf ebooks that I’ve purchased until now, they are a lot now and I’ve created too much folders on my hard disk all other the place. So I try to Group them by category to be able to use them efficiently, or find them when I need them. I sort them by traffic ebooks, by web 2.0 ebooks, by make money online ebooks, by techie ebooks, etc.. The vast majority are in PDF format.

Then I have some disgression by surfing on ezinearticles.com, searching for infos about rss articles authors best authors, I stumble upon Robin Good’s 55TopRSS…

Its 12:00 now. I do some searches about rss and how to gain backlinks with rss because myI previously burnt a feed with feedburner in rss 2.0 format (I used wordpress’s standard feed that came with my blog) and then I notices that feedburner’s feeds URL were completely not Search Engine friendly: the URL is made of bad characters like 434sdgfsdù*^$ etc… and that’s bad! That means that when your rss feed is displayed by other websites or web 2.0 social sites, they will not link back to your blog but link back to feedburner instead with a very ugly non search engine friendly URL.

So I want to terminate my feedburner account. ARRGhh! It’s difficult to delete your account. I searched and searched and there awas no obvious link to do so. So what? In fact, you have to email them and ask for an account closing. But then, the person replied and told me I had to login in my feedburner account and delete my burnt feeds first. Talk about a time loss!! So I delete dmy 2 burnt feeds in my account and re-emailed again sayin “it’s done! delete my account now!” I don’t want my RSS FEED to be redirected to feedburner’s ugly URL anymore. I’ve seen others blog rss under feedburner that are linking to their websites with the correct SE friendly URL, but theirs are in XML format. Since mine is wordpress’s standard wp-rss2.php, I don’t bother I go with it for now. I now feedburner can be really useful but for now, I keep my feed by myself. I’ve lost a lot of hours on this feedburner rss thing,, trying to figure out how to make feedburner link back with decent Urls, I’m fed up now so that’s about it for the moment. I’m glad that I’ve been able to go back with my original wp-rss2.php feed format.

It’s 13:01. I take a break for lunch.

So far:

  • I’ve canceled my feedburner account
  • Got my standard rss 2.0 format back
  • Learned a lot more about Rss despite every trouble above (you always learn even if things mess up)
  • had organised my purchased ebooks better

Now I just write down in my progression notebook that after lunch I will have to start submitting my Rss Feeds to blog and rss directories. (I noted “do this absolutely” :o)

See you in 1 hour or so.

Lova.
